        How To Display Matrix Effect In Command Prompt in few EASY Commands




Display Random Alphabets (looks geeky cool :) must try once

(Step1) Open Command Prompt (if you want to know basics read my previous article Basics Command Prompt).


(Step2)  type " cd\ " without quotes this will take command prompt to the c:\ drive.

(Step3) type " color a " this will turn the text into green (to give it nerdy matrix look :).

(Step4) type " dir /s " this command actually displays ALL directories and Sub directories in the   current selected folder since because of (Step2) we are on C:\ drive the " dir /s " will display all the files in c:\ drive.

Note# To Halt the command you can press Pause break
            To completely abort the command you need to press "Ctrl+C" 
(this will terminate the command).

Command Prompt is basic Command interpreter for windows as most of the computers nowadays have windows installed learning command prompt is a good option to get started.





(Q)       How to open Command Prompt?

(Ans) To open Command window you can either Click on

 Start >>  All programs >> Accessories >> Command prompt

By Default it will open with users folder.
You can Go one directory backwards by using  "cd.." (without quotes)
Or you can use cd\ to come back to local disk
to navigate through different local disk  enter the local partition name with a colon " : "
for example - " d: "  or  "f:" (without quotes)

DISKCOMP       Compares the contents of two floppy disks.

DISKCOPY       Copies the contents of one floppy disk to another.

DISKPART       Displays or configures Disk Partition properties.

DOSKEY         Edits command lines, recalls Windows commands, and  creates macros.

DRIVERQUERY    Displays current device driver status and properties.

ECHO           Displays messages, or turns command echoing on or off.

ICACLS         Display, modify, backup, or restore ACLs for files and directories.

LABEL          Creates, changes, or deletes the volume label of a disk.

RECOVER        Recovers readable information from a bad or defective disk.

REM               Records comments (remarks) in batch files or CONFIG.SYS.

SHUTDOWN       Allows proper local or remote shutdown of machine.

SORT                 Sorts input.

START            Starts a separate window to run a specified program or command.

SUBST            Associates a path with a drive letter.

SYSTEMINFO     Displays machine specific properties and configuration.


TASKLIST       Displays all currently running tasks including services.

TASKKILL       Kill or stop a running process or application.

TIME              Displays or sets the system time.

TITLE            Sets the window title for a CMD.EXE session.

TREE             Graphically displays the directory structure of a drive or path.

TYPE             Displays the contents of a text file.

VER               Displays the Windows version.
